blogdesk

With the build 600 version of BlogDesk, it is now fully functioning on my Vista laptop! w00t!!! The prior problem was that when clicking the add picture button, nothing happened - no “browse for the picture” window.

Thanks Johannes - you still have the most kick ass editor out there! If you love BD like I do, think about slipping Johannes a little skin - I sure don’t want him to quit updating!

I will say that Windows Live Writer has worked in the off season though, so it is good to know it works and I can fall back on it. :)

Here are some facts about the 1500s:

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, Don’t throw the baby out with the Bath water.

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying …It’s raining cats and dogs.
There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house.. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That’s how canopy beds came into existence.

Well, maybe not *quite* as cute as the baby skunks, but look at what USA Today has going in their photo of the day today:

These are a set of tiger triplets who were rejected by their mother at the China Zoo.  Thankfully mama dog isn’t such a bitch.  ;)  Look at the little kneading paws of the black and white one.  OMG.

Can you imagine how much milk that dog is going to be producing?  She won’t be able to keep up with them for long….

After what happened to my hubby the other day in Houston, this video has a bit more meaning - it can happen to you, and it will if you’re not careful.  Take care of your stuff…

I Hate Yellow. 12May07

This is a little nutty - and not such a great test, methinks.  Not that I’m not incredibly perceptive and smart, of course. ;)

YELLOW

You are very perceptive and smart. You are clear and to the point and have a great sense of humor. You are always learning and searching for understanding.

Find out your color at QuizMeme.com!

But Hsien isn’t calm and peaceful either. ;)

It is so sad to say, but I am having some troubles with my beloved BlogDesk on my new Vista computer.  I have downloaded the patch, which actually makes the program open now, but I can’t work with images.  Hopefully I will get that figured out soon, but I thought there was no better opportunity to try some new (to me) stuff, so here goes. :)

Bedtime at the Jones. No, the Clampetts. No, it is the Jones.

Pardon the Rant 04May07

crackheads gone wildI knew this was gonna be a bad day. I woke up at 4 am with horrible back pain for no reason - then things got good, and I had a nice productive morning. Left at noon for some shopping with Mom, then got a call from my hubby who got robbed in Houston. The crackheads broke out his car window while he was in a store and stole his briefcase - Laptop, the entire project he was working on, all his cool techno gadgets (except his MP3 player which he accidentally left in the beach bag last weekend - w00t!), the checkbook and probably most importantly, his medicine and insulin and that damned expensive blood glucose tester. All in the name of a couple rocks. Bastards.

Think CVS pharmacy was helpful in getting his prescriptions transferred from the other store? Not. And our doctor’s office is closed on Friday afternoon. Oy. But Wells Fargo was helpful and nice, so two snaps up for them. ;) What a pain in the ass. The high point is that Marshall was on his way to the Houston airport to go to Chicago for some “training” he didn’t need, and now he doesn’t have to go. But I had lots of work scheduled for the weekend since he was going to be out of town, so we will see how that goes. Aaron, I promise I will try my darndest to get the Tech channel done so we can still say it took one week. :)
