More info for posterity:
Troy Dale Garrett, 38, of Tulsa, holed himself up in a Bryan townhome for nearly nine hours while police wearing bullet-proof armor and wielding guns waited outside.
Police finally entered the house just before 8 p.m., finding him dead. Authorities would not reveal the cause of death or whether Garrett had any weapons on him.
He was found in a residence next to a relative’s house on the 2400 block of Memorial Drive. Police said they believe he moved to the neighboring home by either entering an unlocked door or crawling through the dog door in the back of the residence sometime after police initially attempted to contact him. Crimony. This “residence” is the residence of my son’s best friend, and one of my dearest too. She came home from work yesterday with the SWAT team surrounding her house. She is moving out, probably needless to say.

Heh. The last paragraph came through the RSS reader, Oh Editing One.
Are they moving because the no longer feel safe if someone can break in so easily or are they moving because someone died in the house?
I am not sure WHAT I would do in that situation. Disturbing.
LOL I decided not to start a war - they aren’t computer folks and would probably never get over here to read this, but this IS a small town - stuff gets back to ya.
She is moving because someone died. It is disturbing, but its not like it was a family member or something that happened right in front of her - personally I think I would stay (it was a NICE townhouse…lol), but rationalizing with her last night was just not happening.
Who knows what I would really do though. I am much more
irritateddisturbed by the deleted part of the story this morning. LOL
